Welcome

Perhaps you are seeking to overcome anxiety, depression or another emotional conflict or you have found yourself in challenging circumstances. Or you may be searching for meaning, peace and direction in your life. Therapy can be a way to address these challenges and make sense of how we relate to ourselves and others.
Please take the time to get to know me, my values and therapeutic approach by looking around this site and be in touch if you have further questions or would like to make a time to meet.

My Approach

Working in partnership with you, I take an active role in helping you to better understand the problem for which you are seeking help, and match it with the best solutions available. I am informed by evidence-based interventions and empirically validated research, with an emphasis on neuroscience, attachment theory and psychodynamic theory.

I am dedicated to help people across the lifespan to achieve the best results possible in therapy. I understand that this occurs through the therapeutic
relationship; through mutually agreeing on the focus of therapy (and which
interventions will be used) and utilising evidence-based practices.

I value emotional connection, empathy, trust, and authenticity in the therapeutic relationship. Coupled with a commitment to provide a high standard of professional and ethical service, I value the pairing of knowledge and skill with care and compassion.

My Approach & Philosophy

I value emotional connection, empathy, trust, and authenticity in the therapeutic relationship. Coupled with a commitment to provide a high standard of professional and ethical service, I value the pairing of knowledge and skill with care and compassion.

Over the course of my career, I have worked and trained in various
evidence-based therapeutic approaches. I am trained in and have experience with CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Family/Systems Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy and MI (Motivational Interviewing). I have experience with (and I receive ongoing training and supervision) in ISTDP (Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy).

I have a keen interest in this area of ISTDP. ISTDP is an accelerated treatment that helps a person to understand mechanisms that block emotional experiences that lead to psychological difficulties. This is with a view to improve the management of emotions and then in turn the relationship with the self and others.

I am committed to the provision of quality psychological services to adults, and older-adults living in the Darling Downs and beyond regions. I also provide telehealth sessions and treatment for the broader community.
